Electrical/Hydraulic Assembly/Quality Assurance |
Sargent Fletcher Inc. has specialized equipment and trained personnel for the high level of precision expected in the electrical, hydraulic, sheet metal forming, tube bending, and quality assurance facilities.
Our electrical shop is fully equipped, and the staff includes a category "C" instructor on site. All soldering is per MIL-STD-2000. Sargent Fletcher implements electrostatic discharge provisions per DOD-STD-1686.
The full-harness production capability includes high density and EMI/RFI shielding, with testing capabilities per MIL-C-45244. DIT-MCO test equipment provides analysis of all harnesses.
In addition, other capabilities include assembly of control panels, relay stations and junction boxes, instrument panels, and circuit boards.
A 2000 square foot, temperature- and humidity-controlled environment permits installation of delicate hydraulic components, electrical harness installation, tube installations, and precision gearing assemblies. The hydraulic facility is linked with the electrical department providing a variety of test equipment used for analyzing and troubleshooting complex assemblies.
A great variety of machines and processes are used for sheet metal forming. Compound curve cylindrical and cone sections are formed using spinning and pot die methods. Form blocks and dies are used to produce parts of all shapes and sizes, while others are produced from flat patterns punched on the CNC Amada fabricator machine. These parts are later formed to drawing requirements using brake presses, rolling machines, and hydro forming processes.
Heat treating and aging processes are also available. Detail components are assembled in fixtures and jigs using all types of sheet metal hardware. Finished assemblies meet tough quality requirements.
Tubes of various sizes and shapes are produced to the most exacting specifications. Our tube bending capabilities are:
|
lx diameter to 3x diameter tooling allows bending of 1/4 to 1-1/4 inch diameter tubes.
|
2x diameter to 3x diameter tooling allows bending of 1-1/2 to 3 inch diameter tubes. |
NC and CNC Eaton Leonard benders are used for high-volume output or short-run complex multibend applications for a variety of tubing materials including aluminum, Inconel, stainless steel, and titanium with wall thickness ranging from 0.020 to 0.065 inches.
Other capabilities of the tubing department include the following:
|
End finishing machines for trimming, flaring, and beading tubes ranging from 1/8 to 3 inch diameters.
|
Swage equipment available for Wiggins, Military Specification, and Resistoflex fittings.
|
Pressure test area for tube assemblies up to 10,000 psi (68.95 MPa) hydraulic fluid or water SPC for trim, bend, swage, and pressure test.
|
Vector Data Center for inspecting tubes to exact drawing requirements. |
Sargent Fletcher established the quality assurance program as a single-standard system in accordance with the requirements of AS9100A. This system, recognized and accepted by our various government and commercial customers, is applied to all production programs at Sargent Fletcher Inc.
The quality assurance program is based on prevention of defects and continuous improvement and includes calibration, inspection and testing, process controls, and supplier quality assurance.
Our Coordinate Measuring Machine is capable of measuring precision components with tolerances of 0.0001 inches. In addition, we have standard inspection equipment for any application, dye-penetrant inspection per ASTM 1417 and MIL-W-8604.
